The Intelligent Signal Processing & Wireless Networks (WISENET) Lab has a strong expertise in a broad range of areas: Data Analytics, In-network signal processing and Distributed intelligence, Wireless communications, Cyber-physical systems, Machine learning and Embedded systems.
WISENET project portfolio is highly diversified, and funding is secured from 6 different NFR programs: PETROMAKS2, TOPPFORSK, IKTPLUSS, SFI, INFRASTRUKTUR, INDNOR, INTPART, where WISENET-UiA is the Coordinator/Leader of the projects, having accumulated a total budget (net NFR external funding) of around 120 MNOK in the last 3 years. The success rate when applying for this NFR research funding across all this different Call Programs has been 100% (all project applications have been funded). This shows clearly both a focus on high quality research and the international visibility of WISENET.
The Lab has led more than 20 research projects funded by the Research Council of Norway and EU Programs, maintaining world-wide international collaborations. The WISENET team has a solid experience in the three fronts of theoretical analysis, algorithm design and testbed implementation.
Wisenet Lab Collaborations
The Lab also interacts in actual research projects with actors at the regional, national and international level, with a clear mentality of co-creation, including several institutions from Europe and United States, as well as the Indian Institute of Science. The following Figure shows, respectively, the regional, national and international institutions:
