Short description of the paper: Energy efficiency (EE) at the Access Point (AP) and timely update of information at the user equipment (UE)s form an important aspect in scheduling in the downlink. Age of Information (AoI) is a new paradigm which captures the freshness of information at the UEs. A Lyapunov based heuristic algorithm is proposed to analyze the trade-off between EE-AoI where the AP schedules the UEs in an opportunistic fashion following NOMA/OMA transmission schemes.
